A |     Colombo, Oct 21 (UNI) Britain has said the Metropolitan Police will consider a request from Sri Lanka to help investigate the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings if "it is proportionate, necessary and legal", a newspaper reported on Friday.
In response to a written question by a Labour MP whether the Metropolitan Police was taking steps to support the probe into the bombings, Minister of State (Home Office) (Security) Tom Tugendhat informed the UK Parliament that Metropolitan Police have not deployed any officers, The Island newspaper said.
However, he said that the Home Office works closely with policing partners to support requests from international partners across the full spectrum of policing.
“The Metropolitan Police counter-terrorism command dispatched a team of specialists to Sri Lanka in 2019, including family liaison officers, to support the families of British victims and assist with the repatriation of deceased British nationals.
"A programme run by Interpol involved the training of 30 Sri Lankan forensic specialists and police officers by UK experts in disaster victim identification,” the Minister stated.
Earlier, President Ranil Wickremesinghe said he will seek the assistance of the police authorities of the UK in order to complete the investigation into the Easter Sunday attacks of 2019.
UNI MR。    Zero, released in 2018, had not performed well at the box office. The Shah Rukh Khan starrer did not live upto fans' expectations and director Aanand L Rai has recently opened up about the same. He noted that he did not properly make use of Shah Rukh Khan's stardom or weave it into the character.          During an interview with Galatta Plus, Aanand noted that he should have understood that SRK comes with a stardom that requires to be utilised. He reveals having realised later that he should have taken care of the actor's image. "The problem with Zero was that, that man..that superstar came to me with so much of love and me being me, I never understood that it’s not an actor director who was going to make a story. There was a superstar attached, his image is there, which I have to understand and get in the film. I was working with an actor, a big actor. I realised much later that there is an image that I had to take care of," the director quipped. He further added that many feel his films are without the baggage of a star. Emphasising on the statement, Aanand shared that he probably does not know how to utilise someone's stardom. "When you say that my films are without the baggage of a star, somewhere I agree that maybe I am unable to incorporate that stardom in my characters. At times, people want to see their stars in a character, but a part of the star should also be there, which I was unable to do. I was floating, those bearings were not there, they were moved," he said.          Having said that, the director opened up on working with SRK. Calling it a "rewarding experience," Aanand noted that he should have understood the actor and his image better while filming the movie. Also Read: Tere Ishk Mein Review: Dhanush and Kriti Sanon Shine in This Deeply Intense Love Story。
